Why America is Still the Country to Beat

I just read in Thomas Friedman's "The World is Flat" that the US has around 4,000 (!) colleges and universities. Compare this with about 7,800 colleges and universities in the rest of the world.

This means that one-third of ALL colleges and universities globally is located in the US!

Proof enough that education and innovation is truly the driver for economic growth and development. We cannot dream of setting up sustainable high-tech industries and develop world-class brands, for as long as we starve our colleges and universities of the breathing space and the necessary funds to grow and thrive.
